I Will Share With You

I Will Share With You is an installation that includes video and a fragile tablet of unfired porcelain, as well as a mended and fired porcelain tablet, carved with geometric motifs. As participants sit facing each other, they are asked to share, holding the unfired porcelain slab, pressing their fingerprints into it, and not breaking it. While they are seated, images of textile patterns from countries where many immigrants who have arrived in America are from, as well as historic photos of immigrants. These images morph together and the words, I will share with you, translated into dozens of languages, flows over the screen.
