Bio

Patricia Sannit is a sculptor and multi media artist. 

Born Cleveland, Ohio. BA Art History, Norwegian, and Fine Art from the University of Minnesota; MFA with High Distinction, California College of Art. In addition, Sannit has worked on archeological sites in the Near East and Ethiopia; her art relates to her study of archeology, migration, community, and our place in nature. 

Patricia Sannit has work in many public and private collections. Awards include the Scult Contemporary Forum Artist Award, the Arizona Art Commission artist grant, Phoenix Art Commission artist grant, and an INFLUX grant. She has had residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts, Red Lodge Art Center, Centre Céramique  La Borne, the Belger Crane Yard, Baer Art Center in Hofsós, Iceland, Tempe Center for the Arts, and Atelje A-M in Vestra Ortask, Sweden. Upcoming residencies in 2023 include the Jentel Foundation in Sheridan Wyoming and the Betty and George Woodman Foundation in Florence, Italy.

Solo exhibits include: Phoenix Art Museum, Mulvane Museum in Topeka, Kansas, and ASU Art Museum.Panels include: Artist as Time Traveler, Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies, sponsored by International Arts and Artists; University of Arizona, “Spolia: Art and Archeology at the Dance” for the Archeology Institute of America; “Art in Public”, Kansas Artist Craftsmen Association Conference.

During the COVID lock down, Patricia focused on creating opportunities to make connections between artists and the community, working with a small group of artists to organize three outdoor, city-wide exhibitions, Roadside Attraction, providing opportunities for hundreds of artists to exhibit their work and engage the public in a safe manner.
